New in Instagram Insights
Accounts Engaged
Instagram is going to add demographic data to audience insights below a section which is known as Accounts Engaged.
In this section, you will be able to check your most engaged followers' places, their ages, and much more.
The data added includes:
Top cities
Top countries
Top age ranges and gender
All of the above data can now be broken down by the followers and non-followers.
This will make it very easy to find out the differences between the people who would like to follow you after getting interacted with your content and those who don’t.
Accounts Reached
The number of users who interacted with your content shows a fraction of the number of users who first witnessed content.
For that data, search for the Accounts Reached section of Instagram Insights.
You’ll be able to find out some accounts reached and a demographic breakdown is almost the same as the one in Accounts Engaged.
In the early months of this year, Instagram has included insights into Accounts Reached for Reels and live streams.
Now you would be able to see accounts you interacted with all types of content, though demographic. The data is just available for feed posts.
Where are Instagram Insights?
Insights are there in the main menu of the Instagram app.
If you are not able to see this, then it might be as you don’t have a business account.
If you own a personal account and would like to have some free Instagram Insights, you should search for an option called Switch to Professional Account in the main menu.
Anyone will get into the business account and there are no charges for upgrading.
After going on the option to switch, all Instagram will urge you to choose an applicable business category.
Choose a category and your work is done!
If you have a business account, you can keep creating and publishing content on Instagram as usual.
The basic difference is the data you are going to have access to upon switching.
Along with the data which is added today, you will also get some very useful insights regarding the users who are following you. This will include the demographics when they’re usually online, and much more things.
